looks to me like they just keep overreacting n can't figure out where the balance is between legit defense n whatever the hell they're doing.

I can relate. Seems like the rich Americans (those who can afford to travel abroad) are very elitist. I went to a high school in a town (where I still live) that has the world headquarters for a major oil company - that's where I spent my last 2 years of high school. My first 2 years of high school were at a high school in Columbus, Ohio that was very rough. To be quite honest, the people at the poor high school in Columbus were alot nicer than Biffy and Buffy in the town where I live now. At least in Columbus, if they hate you, there's no question about it. Here, you can go years before you find out you were just being used as asumusment for the Biffy and Buffy crowd, because they act so nice and fake to your face.
I'd like to think the yanks at the outdoor cafe in Spain were just a snapshot of the American elite, not the everyday Americans.
Boris, after reading your comment I have to agree. There are some fantastic people in the states, and the people I'm seeing here are only the offspring of the rich. It's too bad that foreigners don't get exposed to the rest of the US so much.
